Advantages

The face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal structure of silver (Ag) enables it to undergo plastic deformation without cracking during welding, and silver is the metal with the best known conductivity (IACS 105%). Silver brazing alloys ensure conductivity through high silver content + low impurity control (oxygen content <0.01%).
